#MississippiStrong

This Saturday marks the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and once again the Mississippi Gulf Coast is overshadowed by New Orleans. All Mississippians remember where they were and what they did during and after the storm hit. Though the spotlight moved west, then and even now, Mississippi remains strong and proves we know how to take care of each other. Recovery is still happening and we continue to "remember" and "never forget" how God provides and how the Body of Christ is more powerful than any storm named or unnamed that rearranges our lives. Though I have moved from the Magnolia State, I am proud to have called Mississippi my home for 20 years and I am so very thankful to have seen the beauty of the Body of Christ at work 10 years ago and counting. #katrina10 #mississippistrong #umc

Tuesday/Wednesday Update

Things are going really well in Costa Rica.  All of our team is healthy and embracing everyday as a gift from the Divine.  Each day brings new faces and new opportunities to see God in action. The students are constantly being amazed by the power of the Holy Spirit and are excited about the second group coming on Friday. Evening worship has been powerful and lots of good sharing is going on among all the students.   Therefore worship went longer last night so I did not receive yesterday's text update until late last night They reported that each group had powerful moments in homes, "People are wanting knowledge about Jesus, people crying at the mention of prayer.  People crying because you've taken the time to stop and talk to them." The children have been "precious," they seem to smile and get excited about even the small things. "the days seem to get better with every day."
